Coach Tate

Coach Travis Tate is in his first season as the Head Coach for the Tigers.  He comes to us with a proven track record as a head coach for 8 years at Lincoln County High School where under his command the program broke the school record for wins 4 of the 8 years. During this span the Lincoln County Baseball program also earned two regional births and the schools first state appearance in 2007 losing in the semi-finals. The past two seasons Coach Tate has served as the Head Coach at Buckhorn High School and led the Bucks to a playoff appearance in 2015. Coach Tate earned District Coach of the Year honors 3 times and was also honored in 2007 as sectional Coach of the Year.  In between stints at Lincoln County High School, Coach Tate was the hitting coach at Grissom High School under Adam Moseley. The tiger offense under Coach Tate’s direction help make back to back state semifinal appearances in 2010 and 2011. In 2010 the Tiger’s bats had a banner year in 2010, shattering schools offensive records and finishing class 6A state finalist runner-up after losing to Auburn High School in the Finals. Coach Tate is happily married to Julie Tate and has three young children; Brianna (12), Colton (9), and Brody (2).
