Coach Martz has been a volunteer coach for the Tigers for more than 5 seasons serving in all levels of the program. He is a 1980 graduate of Grissom High School and has returned to help coach with the baseball and football programs. He attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Southeastern Institute of Technology where he received a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He is currently employed by 4M Research, Incorporated where he serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Business Development. He has coached both of his sons in youth football and baseball at American League in southeast Huntsville. Garrett and his wife, Julie, have four children: Blake (2007 GHS graduate and baseball alumni), Katelyn (2009 GHS graduate), Matthew (2011 GHS graduate and baseball Alumni) and Hannah (2015 GHS Graduate).
