Game Update April 12, 2025 vs Albertville G1 (AREA Game)
Grissom were impressive in game 1 win against the Aggies 13-1 on Senior Day.
The Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Grayson Stroble grounded out, Garrett Blacklock was struck by a pitch, Zach Shipp was struck by a pitch, and Albertville committed an error, each scoring one run.
Grissom added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Charlie Cassingham singled to center field, Dalton Dardin singled down the left field line, Blacklock was struck by a pitch, and the Aggies committed an error, each scoring one run.
Carter Edwards earned the win for the Tigers. The starter allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking two. Trenton Croghan took the loss for Albertville. The righty went two and one-third innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on six hits, striking out three and walking five.
Josh Burrell and Cassingham were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Tigers. Blacklock provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Grissom with two runs batted in. The Tigers had patience at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Cassingham and Dardin led the team with two free passes each. Cassingham stole two bases. Grissom ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game. The Tigers turned one double play in the game.
