Game Update April 17, 2025 vs Huntsville G1 (AREA Game)

The Tigers triumph over Huntsville Panthers 7-3 to Clinch a Playoff Birth.

Huntsville Varsity Crimson Panthers opened the scoring in the top of the first.

Grissom tied the game up in the bottom of the first thanks to two ground outs. The Tigers tied the game at two on a ground out by Garrett Blacklock.

A home run to left field by Blacklock gave Grissom the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the third.

Josh Burrell earned the win for the Tigers. The starter allowed nine hits and three runs over five innings, striking out four and walking two. Andrew Barnsby took the loss for the Panthers. The starter went five innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking two. Carter Edwards collected the save.

Blacklock drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Tigers with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Burrell and Blacklock each collected two hits for Grissom. Varsity The turned one double play in the game.
