Your Tigers sweep Opening Day against James Clemens

Both teams were strong on the hill on Friday, but Grissom Varsity Tigers defeated James Clemens 2-1. Josh Burrell started the game for Grissom Varsity Tigers and recorded 12 outs.

Grissom Varsity Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Josh Burrell singled to center field, and Garrett Blacklock walked, each scoring one run.

Josh Burrell earned the win for Grissom Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three.  Drinkwater took the loss for James Clemens. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking three, Garrett Blacklock collected the save.

Josh Burrell led Grissom Varsity Tigers with one run batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Charlie Cassingham led Grissom Varsity Tigers with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position.
