Tigers Beat Fairhope
Grissom topped Fairhope 4-2 on in game 2.
A single by Dalton Dardin put Grissom Varsity Tigers on the board in the top of the first.
Alex Herington singled down the left field line, which helped Fairhope tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
A double by Dardin gave Grissom Varsity Tigers the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fifth.
The Tigers took the lead in the top of the sixth. Grayson Stroble singled, scoring one run, to give Grissom Varsity Tigers the edge, 3-2.
Carter Edwards earned the win for Grissom . The starter gave up four hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking three. Will Sparks took the loss for Fairhope. The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out 10 and walking two. Griffin Grigsby collected the save.
The Tigers piled up nine hits in the game. Dardin drove the middle of the lineup, leading Grissom with two runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Garrett Blacklock and Stroble each collected multiple hits for Grissom. The Tigers ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game.
Next up is game 3 tomorrow at 7PM against Gulf Shores High School.
