Consistent Offense Leads Grissom Past Randolph
The Tigers kept adding on runs in a 6-0 victory over Randolph on Monday. Grissom got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Randolph dropped a third strike, and Dalton Dardin singled to the right side of the infield, each scoring one run.
The Tigers added one run in the third. Jarrett Brown walked, making the score 3-0.
Braydon Weaver earned the win for Grissom. The lefty surrendered two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking two. Jackson Weglace took the loss for Randolph . The pitcher went four innings, giving up three runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking four.
Josh Burrell and Dardin were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Grissom Varsity Tigers. Weaver led Grissom Varsity Tigers with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Burrell and Dardin each stole multiple bases for Grissom . The Tigers stole seven bases in the game. Grissom turned one double play in the game. Grissom Varsity Tigers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Burrell had the most chances in the field with eight.
