Grissom Secures The Win Against Hazel Green!!
The Tigers outsted Hazel Green 7-5 on Tuesday.
Grissom got on the board in the top of the second inning after Jarrett Brown doubled down the right field line, and Griffin Grigsby singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
The Tigers added one run in the third after Dalton Dardin singled down the right field line.
Hazel Green made the score 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth after Beaverson doubled, scoring two runs, Hunter grounded out, scoring one run, and Russell singled, scoring one run.
Grissom jumped back into the lead in the top of the seventh inning after Josh Burrell walked, Dardin hit a sacrifice fly, and the Tigers scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run.
Garrett Blacklock earned the win for Grissom. The hurler allowed one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out none and walking one. Charlie Cassingham led things off on the mound for Grissom. The starter gave up zero hits and one run (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. White opened the game for Hazel Green. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking none. Burrell, Dardin, and Carter Edwards each came on in relief for the Tigers and shutdown Hazel Green.
Number eight hitter, Grigsby, showed the depth of Grissom’s lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. The Tigers stole four bases in the game.
