Grissom Defeats Morton Potters (IL) On Multiple Hit Performance By Josh Burrell!!
Burrell collected three hits in four at bats, as the Tigers defeated the Potters 6-5 on Friday. Burrell singled in the second inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Grissom built a 5-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Morton charge.
The Tigers captured the lead, 3-1, in the top of the second when Charlie Cassingham drew a walk, scoring one run, and Burrell singled, scoring two runs.
Cassingham earned the win for Grissom. The righty surrendered seven hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking none. Cameron Crawford took the loss for Morton Varsity Potters. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering four runs on six hits, striking out two and walking two. Griffin Grigsby collected the save.
Grissom Varsity Tigers tallied 10 hits in the game. Dalton Dardin collected two hits for Grissom in three at bats. Burrell stole three bases. The Tigers stole four bases in the game.
