Game Update March 25, 2025 vs James Clemens
Pitching is impressive as the Tigers beat James Clemens 2-1!!
Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Grissom defeated James Clemens 2-1. Braydon Weaver started the game for the Tigers and recorded 11 outs.
Grissom didn’t take the lead until later in the game. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth when Garrett Blacklock singled, scoring one run.
A ground out by Ramos put James Clemens on the board in the top of the second.
Grissom Varsity Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Dalton Dardin hit a sacrifice fly, and Blacklock singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Blacklock earned the win for the Tigers. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Scotty took the loss for James Clemens. The reliever went one and one-third innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out one and walking three. Weaver started on the mound for Grissom. The pitcher gave up four hits and one run (zero earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Cody Hodges stepped on the mound first for James Clemens. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none.
Blacklock and Dardin were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Tigers. Grissom ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
