Josh Burrell’s big day propels Grissom Tigers Past Bob Jones 9-0.

Josh Burrell collected three hits in four at bats, as Grissom Varsity Tigers defeated Bob Jones 9-0 on Saturday. Burrell hit a home run to left field in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.

Grissom Varsity Tigers won thanks in part to seven runs in the third inning. Burrell singled, scoring one run, Dalton Dardin singled, scoring one run, Garrett Blacklock singled, scoring one run, Griffin Grigsby grounded out, scoring one run, Zach Shipp doubled, scoring two runs, and Grayson Stroble singled, scoring one run.

Grissom Varsity Tigers got on the board in the first inning after Burrell homered to left field, scoring two runs.

Carter Edwards earned the win for Grissom Varsity Tigers. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking three. Cam Martin took the loss for Bob Jones. The hurler went two innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking none.
